About
What zaclip is
A free set of tools for people posting video to TikTok, built by one person because the existing advice about video quality is mostly repeated rather than tested, and the gap between the two is measurable.
What it does
- Keep your quality — rebuilds a video’s MP4 container in your browser so TikTok takes less from it on the way in. Your picture and sound are copied byte for byte; nothing is re-encoded and the file never leaves your device.
- Quality checker — reads the real file TikTok serves for any public video and reports its resolution, frame rate, bitrate and codec. This is the tool every guide here was written with.
- Downloader — saves a public video as an MP4, with its measured quality shown before you download it.
- Post to TikTok — sends a prepared video straight to your TikTok drafts, for people whose phone makes the normal route awkward.
Who makes it
One person, in Nepal. It started because uploads kept coming back soft and none of the advice online explained why in a way that held up. Working out what was actually happening took reading MP4 files byte by byte, and the tools here are what fell out of that.
There is no company behind it, no investors, and nothing to sign up for. It is free because the costs are small and it would be a worse tool with an account system bolted on.
How the claims here are made
Everything stated as fact on this site was measured. Where something is inference rather than measurement, the guides say which it is, and how many files it rests on. A finding from six videos is described as a finding from six videos.
When a claim turns out to be wrong, it gets corrected rather than quietly left. That has already happened more than once: a download button that promised no watermark when the file plainly had one, and a guide whose conclusion did not survive a controlled test and was rewritten the same day. The guide on resolution and frame rate still lists the two theories that died before the surviving one, because showing the discarded work is most of what makes the rest trustworthy.
What it does not do
- It does not store your videos. The encoder never receives one; the posting tool forwards it to TikTok and keeps nothing. The privacy page describes each feature separately, because they genuinely differ.
- It is not affiliated with TikTok, and it cannot help with your account, your posts or your reach.
- It does not promise that TikTok will treat your upload well. TikTok re-encodes everything and can change how at any time — which is why the home page carries the date of the last real test rather than a permanent claim.
Getting in touch
Corrections are especially welcome. If you have a video that contradicts something written here, that is more useful than agreement — send it over.
